Assist with the proper installation and maintenance of all audiovisual equipment systems in classrooms, while utilizing industry safety procedures.
Diagnose and implement proper repair procedures for all non-functioning audiovisual equipment in classrooms.
Review, complete and submit the proper paperwork on a timely basis for activities directly assigned.
Assist other technicians and departmental personnel as necessary to achieve established departmental goals.
Perform all other duties as assigned in individually assigned specialized repair and maintenance areas.
Construct AV system equipment racks for installation according to current established departmental standards.
Assist as directed with the sales and marketing of the CTS department.
Overtime may be required during academic breaks or high volume periods.
JOB DUTIES:
Technology Installation, Maintenance, and Repair: (70%)
Install data projection systems, automation control systems, computer, Ethernet interfaces, and associated media equipment.
Build and install equipment racks, install and terminate cable, perform operational and quality verification testing of installed systems.
Develop increased skill level in isolating and determining best practice repair methods for increasingly complex presentation equipment operations, repair, and maintenance.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repair work of audiovisual equipment according to industry standards.
Increase knowledge and understanding of performing repairs of customized presentation technology systems.
Work independently on performing and diagnosing field repair problems.
Perform assessment and repair of digital signage equipment as needed.
Administrative: (20%)
Assist departmental personnel as necessary to achieve established departmental goals. This may include, but is not limited to, inventory receiving, inventory counts, equipment repair processing with vendors, firmware upgrades, assisting drivers, making deliveries, or digital signage updates.
Coordinate proper completion and submission of all paperwork associated with assignments in accordance with established procedures.
Complete and accurately submit time cards on a daily basis based on time spent on individual projects.
Participate as an active contributing member on all assigned team projects.
Assist as directed with the sales and marketing of the CTS department.
Perform various other duties, as assigned by management.
Customer Service: (10%)
Build, foster, and maintain positive individual customer relationships when working with all assigned CTS customers.
Communicate with customers concerning the affected repairs and maintenance services performed and any pertinent information about their system operation beneficial to the customer.
Solicit feedback when in contact with customers about the performance and overall satisfaction with their installed audiovisual system and report feedback to Production Manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate with at least two years of trade school education or other training in electronics with at least one year of recent experience. Equivalent combination of related experience and education may be substituted. Experience should include low voltage installation.
Currently in possession of or in the process of obtaining a valid (Registered) current State of Minnesota Power Limited Technician license.
Ability to think, troubleshoot, and make sound low voltage installation decisions in changing situations.
Ability to lift and carry 60 lbs., bend, kneel, and climb ladders.
Ability to incorporate new technology concepts and procedures into daily assigned repair and maintenance activities.
Verbal and written communication skills necessary to work with a wide variety of knowledge and skill levels.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and keep all tasks moving forward at all times.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to maintain composure in slow- and fast-paced daily activities.
Extensive prior experience with standard laptop computer setup and associated software involving Power Point Presentation and LCD image projection.
Experience with installations, repair, and maintenance of conferencing technologies
At least one year of low voltage installation experience.
