The Bottling Journeyman/Technician maintains the electrical and electronic aspects of bottling operations and provides technical capability to maximize production efficiency using PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers).
This tradesman must have developed advanced knowledge of materials, tools and maintenance shop practices in an industrial maintenance environment.
Under the direction of the Bottling Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Team Managers, must possess the following electrical skills:
Read and interpret schematic drawings and electrical code specifications
Installing Conduit runs Â½ inch to 3 inches in diameter.
Termination of AC and DC sources to electrical components to form electrical circuits from 24 VAC/DC and 120 AC to 460 VAC 3 Phase circuits.
Installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls.
Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and understand Ladder Logic.
Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley RSLogic Software and have skills to read, write and diagnosis PLC programs (PLC 5 & SLC 500 Logic Controllers or equivalent).
Basic knowledge of operating digital equipment on Fiber Optic and RF Cable networks.
Must know and understand Microsoft Windows NT Platforms. Working knowledge of WonderWare or RSView 32 a plus.
Must show work experience relating to 5 yearsâ experience in an Industrial Maintenance position or equivalent of electrical maintenance background.Â Â
Must have the capability of investigating and analyzing causes of equipment failure and malfunction and take the necessary corrective action.
Must be able to plan, layout, erect and assemble in accordance with drawings, manufacturer's specifications and blueprints as well as verbal or written instructions with minimum supervision.
Direct involvement with the maintenance work order system, parts ordering system and preventive maintenance program.
Must possess outstanding communications skills, and be capable of interfacing well with all production, quality control, and warehouse personnel.
Must be capable of working assigned shifts and overtime. Good safety and attendance records.
Must be able to work in high or confining places and should be able to lift and move heavy objects.
Actively support departmental goals.

BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering Degree, or completion of at least two years post-secondary education, formal training in electrical theory, industrial controls, or equivalent combination of education and / or experience.
Minimum 5 yearsâ experience in bottling, labeling, and packaging equipment repairs, including maintenance of mechanical, bearings and shaft seals
Network and/or electrical certifications are a plus
Computer literacy in MS Office and integrated work order / inventory system.
Experience reading and using equipment manuals, equipment drawings and electrical schematics to diagnose and resolve equipment problems
Must have basic math skills and have ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide with the aid of a calculator. Basic computer skills required
Should have an understand of basic production processes
Strong electrical background, knowledge of Servos and VFDâs
Full knowledge of Allen Bradley controllers and programming software
Must know ControlLogix/CompactLogix, PLC5, SLC 500, MicroLogix, Siemens and HMI (AB Panelview and Panelview Plus)
Ability to perform changes to PLC and HMI programs (adding sub-systems and interfacing equipment)
Ability to modify existing AutoCAD electrical drawings
Ability to create electrical documentation
Ability to write PLC and HMI programs for production equipment
Knowledge of DeviceNet, Ethernet, DH+ and RS232.
Ability to design and document electrical control wiring using AutoCAD
Ability to create operational manuals for modified equipment
Ability to design communication networks between PLC's and HMI's
Ability to wire and terminate electrical controls and motors
Ability to use computers running Windows OS
Ability to use electrical meters
