What you’ll be doing...
You’ll be managing all engineering, maintenance, and improvements to the Outside Plant Telephony Network, including structures, cables, and associated equipment. You will coordinate with a variety of teams and have direct contact with business and residential customers. You’ll work in diverse environments, both indoors and outdoors, to solve complex problems and implement innovative solutions to keep our customers happy.
Managing all engineering and construction activities of assigned projects associated with expanding and maintaining the OSP network infrastructure. Familiar with engineering and operational requirements of market level planning as well as site or customer specific maintenance and fiber relocation efforts.
Leading large scale projects, driving productivity through use of vendor resources to meet deliverables.
Engaging appropriate internal and external organizations and individuals with professional written/verbal communications to accomplish required tasks.
Coordinating project activities with contractors, developers, municipalities and consultants.
Proposing solutions supported by sound engineering and operational productivity to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.
Recognizing vulnerabilities in network infrastructure and make intelligent decisions to ensure reliability – within financial constraints.
Preparing detailed cost analysis, project specifications, spend forecasts, route mapping, requisitions, and business justifications.
Processing reports, completing orders, reviewing drawings, and other administrative duties.
Receiving general instruction, otherwise performs independently with minimal supervision, exercising latitude to achieve daily objectives and approaches to critical/complex assignments.
Communicating project status and progress to team members and customers.
Multi-tasking to effectively manage a wide range of simultaneous activities often interrupted by other demands.
Responding immediately to network outages, coordinating necessary resources and activities for prompt and appropriate restoral.
Work conditions are 40 hours per week with some travel required. Extra hours and occasional weekend work may be required depending on business demands.

While you work well independently, you are also a great teammate and enjoy leading colleagues and coordinating efforts to ensure the best outcomes. No stranger to a fast-paced environment, you balance multiple assignments and opposing priorities while staying passionate about important deadlines. As a strong communicator, you can quickly build relationships with a diverse range of people and explain complex technical issues in a way that everyone can understand.
You’ll need to have:
Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
Three or more years or relevant work experience.
Willingness to travel.
Valid Driver's License.
Even better if you have:
Expert with CAD, 3GIS, ARCGIS, or other mapping and drafting software.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Master’s degree in engineering or technical/science/mathematics fields.
Experience with corporate data and reporting platforms (Excel, Tableau, Cheetah, or others).
