What you’ll be doing...
We are looking for an in-house attorney to provide legal support for (1) commercial sales contracts with enterprise retail and wholesale customers; (2) agreements for purchase and supply of network and related services outside of the US; and (3) sourcing and vendor agreements. This legal support will involve purchases and sales of services primarily in, but not limited to, Russia, Ukraine, and other CIS countries, as well as the Middle East and Africa region.
Provide legal counsel at all stages (reviewing, drafting, negotiating, structuring, etc.) in the establishment of complex sales agreements with global enterprise customers of Verizon’s Business Group for services, such as private and public IP services, CPE, managed network services, in Russia, Ukraine, the Middle East and other emerging market countries. At times such agreements may include a portfolio of data services, such as Private 5G, MEC, video conferencing (BlueJeans), professional and security services, and telematics and fleet services.
Review, draft, negotiate, and provide legal counsel related to international wholesale agreements for sale of Verizon network services and solutions to carrier-customers located in the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and Emerging Markets, as well as international voice termination and VoIP agreements for voice traffic between the US and non-US points.
Review, draft, and negotiate complex network supply and purchase agreements with non-US carriers and undersea cable systems for support of Verizon’s global data and IP network, including MPLS (PIP) access and bandwidth capacity and purchase agreements, and Data Center Partnership Interconnection agreements.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
JD degree and six or more years of relevant work experience.
Bar membership in good standing and needed licenses.
Experience with international regulations and commercial practices.
Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have:
Ability to balance commercial needs against legal and compliance risk.
Ability to quickly learn and to assess international commercial and regulatory matters.
Experience supporting CIS and Eastern European markets.
Reading and writing skills in English, Russian, and maybe other languages.
Demonstrated interest and experience in and a passion for international matters.
Ability to be proactive and like to take the initiative.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness and ability to manage a portfolio of work over a wide variety of legal and compliance issues.
Collaborative and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of GSuite (Google Mail, etc.) and the ability to learn and work in Verizon contracting and workflow systems.
