o support and enhance the mission the Office of Residential Education, the Assistant/Associate Director of Housing and OneCard Operations will be responsible for helping to create and manage a comprehensive residential environment that is academically and socially stimulating that provides excellent and timely student service. The primary responsibility of this position is to effectively coordinate all housing operations and administration with a student-first model of service. The position also provides functional support to a growing OneCard program. As a member of the office's central staff, the Assistant/Associate Director is also involved in department planning, policy formation and implementation, and program development.

Provide creative and enthusiastic leadership and direction in the training and usage of housing software (The Housing Director [THD]) and interfacing with our enterprise system (PeopleSoft) and access system (CSGold); serves as the Colleges’ “super administrator” for THD
Serve as main communication point for Residential Education with a variety of offices, including Information Technology, Buildings & Grounds, Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), Financial Aid, and Dining Services
Coordination all housing selection and assignment processes for all students, including managing overflow housing
Monitor and report housing occupancy, sometimes on-demand, including the approval and coordination of room changes
Make sound and data-informed projections of future occupancy, including overflow needs
Coordinate all fire-safety related room inspections and related follow-up to noted violations in collaboration with Area Staff, Buildings & Grounds, and Campus Safety, including planning of proactive programming and marketing
Coordinate and ensure accuracy of all residential education-related charges, including room fees, incidental charges (such as damages) and meal plan selection
Coordinate off-campus approval system and review appeals for off-campus approval.
Oversee opening and closing procedures at the beginning and end of semester breaks and vacation periodsâ??implement feedback to consistently evolve the procedures
Develop and manage departmental publications, brochures, websites, and other written communication for students, parents, and campus community as it relates to Residential Education and Housing.
Manage requests for medical accommodations for housing, meal plans, and residency accommodations in coordination with Disability Services and other necessary entities.
Coordinate the opening and closing, maintenance, fire safety follow-up for all fraternities in collaboration with the Office of Student Activities.
Coordinate all key efforts including lock changes, key inventories, packaging and maintaining accurate records.
Provides first-level response to access and meal plan issues within CS Gold and physical card access points of entry; troubleshoots by reviewing and dissecting CS Gold settings and privileges, and makes appropriate recommendations for changes in consultation with IT Services
Facilitates a variety of tasks with IT Services, the student engagement staff (who provides hands-on staffing of the OneCard office), CBORD (the OneCard vendor), Adirondack (THD vendor) and off-campus partners to assist in administering a comprehensive OneCard program, including marketing of Community Cash options, providing training on CS Gold, ensuring the OneCard office has appropriate equipment, and troubleshooting initial technical issues with integrations
Residential Education Program:
Supervise the Residential Education Coordinator (administrative support)
Represent the department on divisional and/or campus-wide committees
Serve as a member of the ResEd Staff Member On-Call emergency response rotation
Facilitate conduct meetings with off-campus students as delegated with the goal of educating students on positive choices and healthy lifestyles
Other duties as assigned
The successful candidate will have:

Demonstrated experience with data management systems (such as The Housing Director or a similar software) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access
Demonstrated strong mathematical and computational thinking skills (such as being able to understand how data integrates via file transfers), including the ability to assess numerical data
Enthusiasm in providing excellent customer service to students and parents
The successful candidate will hold a Master’s Degree in student personnel, educational leadership, or counseling or a related field
At least three years in residence hall administration
A sense of humor and flexibility with the goings on of the day-to-day of a residential campus
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Experience managing occupancy and housing assignments on a small, private liberal arts campus
Crisis intervention and management; effective conflict resolution skills
Skills in developing and managing budgets, inventory systems and procedures in a creative, organized manner
This is a full-time 12-month, benefits-eligible administrative (exempt) position. Additional benefits include a fully furnished three bedroom apartment (with live-in partner policy and pet policy), and internet and cable. A meal plan per semester is also provided. Some evening and weekend work is required. Compensation includes salary and benefits. Professional development monies are available.
